Styling Kingsford Terrace
What a great experience to turn these 2 well designed apartments in Corinda, Brisbane around in 1 week!
The pressure was on for this styling project, however, sometimes we shine brightest when under fire :-) The wonderful ladies at Aura Holdings enlisted my services to style a One x 2 bed and One x 3 bed (with an enormous balcony area) in time for their predetermined Sales Event.
The furniture selection firstly had to be available, and secondly aesthetically pleasing as well as providing the essentials to fill the space without over doing it.
I felt the bedrooms of course needed to be comfortable but also possess a tad of a glamorous vibe, so I went all out with bed heads in the master bedrooms and loads of lovely cushions and pillows so you really felt like jumping in and spending some time in that space. I kept the artwork in the master beds subtle yet interesting enough so as to compliment the soft furnishings. In the 2nd Bedrooms I bought a more fresh, vibrant look and feel with greens and pops of colour, also reflected in the artwork chosen - loved the pineapple print!
The living area in the 2 bedder was quite small and narrow and I needed to provide an example of how the essential pieces of furniture could fit within the space. I chose a 2 seater sofa and large arm chair instead of cramming a modular or larger sofa in, as this would not allowing enough room for a dining area. A simple round 5pce dining table did the job nicely, allowing enough room for a couple of bar stools along the kitchen bench as well. Using a variety of natural and blue hued cushions, throws and a natural fiber grey & cream striped rug, provided softness and defined the space. Bridging the two areas was a large contemporary canvas of artwork which tied the look together.
The outdoor area in this apartment was adequate enough to accommodate both a 5 pce dining setting and small lounge area. Using all weather wicker was a no brainer and the gorgeous striped cushions continued the story from inside, while the additional green palm scatters provided a relaxed and fresh feel.
Onto the larger of the 2 apartments where there was more room to spread out but less time to spare. Given the substantial amount of living area I was able to choose a good sized, comfy right facing modular so as to provide some boundaries to the area whilst opening it up to the incredible view. Greys, Blues and Greens were used in keeping with the building colour palette and again providing a comfortable yet classy effect. The dining area nook was large enough to hold a 5 pce dining table, and choosing a round table meant there was room to move and even add a little life to the corner area with a bit of foliage, and the use of the mirror gave the illusion of the area almost doubling in size.
The study was a great little room which lent itself to being a bit of a retreat from the rest of the apartment, I wanted to create a bit of an old worldly meets modern feeling in here. The hero of this room was definitely the gorgeous timber and leather armchair with foot rest which took center stage. Light Oak timbers and a natural round jute rug complemented the chair well and the huge world print and accessories further enhanced the study look.
Finally the enormous balcony area - what a stunning space to spend time! I wanted to continue with a modern and light look here. The white wicker lounge setting created a really comfortable area to entertain and relax with guests or simply sip a morning cuppa and take in the view. There was ample room for a large 7pce dining setting as well and not wanting to take away from the view, I chose a frosted glass table top with aluminium frame and white modern weatherproof chairs.
All was completed in the time frame and subsequently the larger apartment sold within the first week!... Just goes to show how styling a property can significantly improve your sales!
Kingsford Terrace are now only 6-8 months off completing their second stage in Cordinda, Brisbane and I'm excited to see the finished product!
